Körsbärsblommans dag 2017!

Cherry blossoms have been an object of fascination for many of us! The flower has its origin rooted in Japan. The ‘Sakura’ flower is a symbol associated with Japanese history. It stands for nobleness, the beauty of life and transience. These flowers bloom and stay in full bloom for a very short period of time! As a kid, I used to watch a lot of anime (Yes yes, I know it’s nerdy, but it’s awesome! ) So, when i used to see photos of cherry blossoms in anime series, I used to wish I could experience something magical like that too!

Cherry blossoms, although predominantly indigenous to Japan, are found in many other parts of the world! And lucky for me, it blooms here in Stockholm as well!! 😀

As you might have guessed from my very first blogpost, I love nature, colours and all things bright and positive! So when I found out that there was a Cherry Blossom Fest in Stockholm, I knew I HAD to be there!

And today, April 22nd 2017, is Körsbärsblommans dag! (Cherry blossom day) 😀 Woohoo!

It wasn’t just the bright and beautiful flowers that got me mesmerised, it was the entire event!
From Cosplay, to traditional Japanese music, martial arts display, the sunshine, the light breeze…It was all just picture perfect! Here are some postcards from Cherry Blossom Day 2017!

Today, the little kid in me had her fantasy of being in Sakura Land fulfilled 😀

Did you know cherry blossoms bloom in Uppsala also? Check out Marina’s cherry blossom experience from last year!
